Z1000 - 1170 WISECO
I used to build
'Street-Sleepers' like this Z1000, taking early 70's 'Z's, fitting big
motors. This one in the mid 90's 1170 Wiseco, ZZR front and rear ends.
GSXR Carbs & Andrews Cams. A decent set of Harris pipes. This bike
tended to blow off Fireblades!
RICKMAN GSXR 1127 'M' Model
As featured in Streetfighters
Magazine but at that time it only had a 750 motor. Came to me with a
very sick 750 engine. I totally rebuilt the bike with 1127 motor. Turned out so nice one of my mechanics bought it off me
1977 YOSHIMURA KWACKER
This is in the final of 'Bracket
racing' at Santa Pod 1977. This is me getting thrashed by a
supercharged nitro burning 750 Triumph.
1971 650 BSA This was the 1st bike I ever built. Assembled from many boxes of bits in the back room of a house in Wandsworth.
Ran it for 3 years until I turned it over
1974 650 BSA
This is the second bike I
built when I was working at Leon Wallace Customs. Shown on Rays stand at Alexndria Palace
1977 RICKMAN KAWASAKI Found in a front room of a flat in Hammersmith, all the nickel on the chassis was rotten. The bike had not been run for over 10 years.
In street trim, ran 49 seconds for the Short Track at Brands Hatch with Johnny Allen riding it
HARRIS MAGNUM CB900
Bought as part of a job lot of
Hondas. This is the ONLY Honda engine that I have ever known that could spin the rear wheel in 1st 2nd 3rd AND 4th !!!
Built as a project to advertise
'Anne's' Paintwork skills.
JANS 1ST BIKE 250 HONDA G5
1974, the days of " You meet the
nicest people on a Honda"
JANS SECOND BIKE TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE USA IMPORT Bike test passed I bought a then completely rebuilt Bonnie, which was nothing but one problem after another as the 'rebuilder' did'nt know what he was doing. As I only ever owned one bike at a time and was my only form of transport I only kept it a few months.
THIS WAS ONE OF JANS FAVORITE BIKES GS750
No Brand loyalty me, onto a
used Suzuki. I just loved this bike, it handled, pulled wheelies, was
comfy on long runs, and dead reliable. What more could you ask for?
CX500 Having fallen on 'Hard Times' I needed something cheap and reliable as my only form of transport, and a CX500 ticked all the boxes. I was actually quite impressed with it and it was pretty good 'off road' when needed! I thought it was pig ugly but looks were not important to me at that time, I just needed something cheap to run & buy....ideal!
HONDA NIGHTHAWK 650 American Model DOHC - in-line 4 shaftie. Absolutely CRAP top end made 95mph on a good day but boy did it get there quick! Could keep up with just about anything.....up to 90!!! This bike instigated/ inspired in me the need for speed, kept it for a few years, had a paint job done on it but really I was desperate to get something FASTER!................next........
JANS CURRENT BIKE FOR LAST 13 YEARS!!!! ZX10
Ahhhh! my ZX10. Never thought
this bike nor my License would last over a year.
1978 TRIUMPH 750 SAINT Yes you read it right its a 750 Saint not a 650. This bike is one of only 6 built for evaluation by the police and was never in production. Mine is number 4. Single carb, Norton pipes and 'nice' side boxes eh? Bought it 2006 for pottering round all the wonderful (but gravelly and cow poo-ed) back lanes where the ZX10 is a handful. Not pretty by any standards, going to keep it exactly as is! A joy to ride, its so cute and basic
